Production process of a site-specific video work

As part of their commissioned artwork, the Disnovation.org collective codevelops a narrative video linking the karstic geology and the region’s history of social innovation, through interviews, archival research, and site investigations across the Jura landscape.

In April: The collective suggests to come back to the production of a narrative video. The main guideline could be the association of geological and social specificities of this territory. The region has been pioneer in utopian and collective initiatives in the social and economical field. The local social inventions are a way to open axis of a reflexion and plan water commons in the present and the future.

17-19 th June 2024: Stay of Clémence Seurat (who has been associated to the research by the collective) and Maria Roszkowska. Interviews and other visits of other sites with the commisionners are organized with Wim Cuyvers, François Jacquier and Philippe Perrin.

They also introduce the stage of the research and the development of the work. It’s also a moment for sharing archives and images.

Meetings with researchers are organized:

The artists explain that the link with social utopia was difficult to develop properly in such a short time, they won’t be able to develop this aspect.

Other visits to deepen some chapters and subjects of the video: Villards d’Héria, Tourbière de Nanchez, La Rixouse and Montavoies.
